Sussex Furniture Painting Terms and Conditions of Sale

Acceptance of any quote provided is considered to be an agreement between Sussex Furniture & Kitchen Painting Ltd (to be referred to from hereon as ‘SFKP Ltd’) and the client as outlined below:

1. Scope of Services

The costs and schedule of all works included within the quote are based upon the information and client requirements provided to that date. If, after acceptance of the quote, additional or altered requirements are presented by the client, a revised or additional quote will be provided, we reserve the rights to undertake any additional or altered works on a separate date to the original scheduled work.

All quotes are valid for 30 days from date of issue. If no written acceptance of the quote is received within 30 days, SFKP Ltd reserves the right to amend or revise the quote prior to any work being accepted.

All costs are subject to review should works be undertaken 3 months post job acceptance. This is due to unpredictable economic changes in pricing.

2. Pricing and Payment

A deposit payment will be payable at the time of booking. Payment of the deposit will secure target date/s for the commencement of the work. The deposit is a non-refundable fee that goes towards the overall cost of the proposed work. This is to be paid via BACs transfer, unless otherwise agreed with SFKP Ltd.

A formal quote will be issued post email exchange with payments terms included, acceptance will be required for us to generate a deposit invoice. Weekend/bank holiday site visits to undertake work outside of the original quote will be charged at 2 x our standard hourly rate.

Invoices will then be generated in line with the payment terms from the formal quote for the job as a whole.

Payment of invoices is expected to be within 24 hours of issue, unless otherwise agreed in writing in advance. Invoices outstanding beyond a 72 hour period will be subject to interest at a rate of 10% every seven days or part thereof.

Completed items cannot be collected or returned until all invoices due are paid and the monies showing in our bank account.

3. Cancellation Policy

If the customer wishes to cancel or reschedule the work after the commencement of work, the customer must provide written notice to the company at least 7 working days prior to the target starting date. The company reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee that can be up to 30% of the value of the project total.

4. Warranty, Liability and Insurance

The company provides a warranty for its workmanship for a period of 12 months from the completion of work. The warranty covers defects in workmanship caused by the company’s negligence or fault. The company will not be liable for any damage or loss caused by the customer’s misuse or neglect of the painted surfaces after completion of work.

All items of furniture or other belongings provided to SFKP Ltd will be insured by SFKP Ltd against loss or damage whilst in their possession, up to the value of £25,000.

The customer will have to fill out a form prior to us accepting or starting work to ensure we are compliant with insurance.

5. Materials and Supplies

All paints, coatings and materials will be supplied by SFKP and costs of such will be included in the quote unless otherwise agreed in writing. If it is agreed by SFKP in writing that the client will supply their own paints or materials or should the client request use of a product other than that suggested by SFKP Ltd, SFKP Ltd will carry no responsibility for the finish achieved using those paints and/or materials.

6. Customer Responsibilities

The customer must ensure that the surfaces to be painted are clean and free of debris unless otherwise arranged for SFKP to do, and must remove all items from the surfaces to be painted prior to the commencement of work. The customer must also ensure that the area surrounding the surfaces to be painted is clear of obstacles and hazards. The company will not be responsible for any damage to personal property or injury to persons resulting from the customer’s failure to comply with these responsibilities.

Any repairs necessary as a result of damage caused by other parties will be charged for by the hour.

The customer must ensure we are the last of the trades into a building project and the only trade on site in the room/s in question at the time of working. We reserve the right to not start a job should the conditions not be appropriate when we attend. There will be an abortive fee (1 day’s labour) if we arrive and are unable to work due to inappropriate conditions.

7. Confidentiality

The company will maintain the confidentiality of all customer information, including personal information and details related to the scope of work, and will not disclose such information to third parties without the customer’s consent.

8. Photographs/Internet & Social Media

By accepting any quote from SFKP Ltd you are agreeing to SFKP Ltd photographing and using still and/or moving images of those items we are working on, on our website page and social media accounts. SFKP Ltd will always ensure that any photos published are completely anonymous and contain no images or information that may be used to identify the owner/s of the item/s or (when on location) the location in which the photographs were taken. If you would prefer us NOT to take or use photographs of your items please advise at the point of accepting the quote.

These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between the customer and the company, and supersede all prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral, with respect to the subject matter hereof.

By engaging the services of the company, the customer agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.
